LinkedIn silent happy nazi behavior - posted by saidone on Fri, 01 Aug 2008 12:00:06 GMT
The account of our teammate Mirco Caccia has been deleted without notice from LinkedIn and as result the Hackers group with more than a thousand members is now vanished.
No strange action was performed apart normal group administration like accepting/inviting members. First problems arose last week when it was no more possible to accept further participants.
Surely we will not iterate again the effort, as it's not acceptable to work for free for LinkedIn (the concept sadly can be extended to any other of the existing social networks/whatever and big company whose service value comes for the unpaid use by people).
This strengthen our conviction that if somebody operates and expend energies on a private system he should make sure the system is its own, else it's a waste. Don't be grateful to big companies for their services, their schemes are always unbalanced on their side. If there's no gain they will not play. Instead participate in projects driven by intelligent humans and not by robots and speculation needs.
The group will now entirely move to http://aghers.org/ on a non moronized platform, if you still want to follow it go there and apply again. Personally I have no intention to mail the service asking why they acted so. This is definitive: bye bye and go fuck LinkedIn, Google, %{CAPITAL_COMPANY}. It's a little loss for you but a big gain for us.
Thanks to everybody participating and enjoy this little script that was used to auto-invite people under verification. It was a part of our group management toolkit.
